Families across Ready Region Southside now have access to a new resource designed to make navigating early care and education options easier. The Care Options Brochure was created with families of children from birth to age five (not yet in kindergarten) in mind, providing a clear overview of available childcare choices as well as financial assistance opportunities.
Inside the brochure, families will find:
- Types of Early Care and Education Programs – including family day homes, childcare centers, Head Start and Early Head Start, and Virginia Preschool Initiative classrooms.
- Financial Assistance Opportunities – information on childcare subsidy and Mixed Delivery.
- Local Connections – guidance on how to access programs, eligibility details, and where to get more information to support family decision-making.
This resource was developed to support parents and caregivers as they explore the care settings that best meet their child’s needs. Choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions a family makes, and the Care Options Brochure provides trusted, easy-to-understand information to help families feel confident in their choices.
The brochure will be available at community events, family centered gatherings, and through partner organizations across Southside. Families can also request a copy directly from the Ready Region Southside team.
By offering families clear information about childcare types and available supports, Ready Region Southside is continuing its commitment to increasing access, strengthening family engagement, and building a strong foundation for young children’s success.
