Giving your child a strong foundation starts with quality early education, and Virginia’s Unified Quality Birth to Five System (VQB5) can help you find it.
VQB5 ensures publicly funded programs deliver quality care and learning while giving parents access to public Quality Profiles to support informed childcare decisions for their family.
In October, the Virginia Department of Education launched a new VQB5 Quality Profile website, housing over 3,000 public site profiles across Virginia. This is an exciting resource for families seeking quality childcare. Not only does the website provide operational information for childcare providers, but it also provides current ratings indicating the quality of each childcare center, including curriculum use.
The VQB5 Quality Profile website includes information on all publicly funded sites and any non-publicly funded sites that opt-in. It enables families to:
- Easily find out whether a site has met the state’s quality expectations and access links to health and safety inspections.
- View sites’ quality rating and performance information based on the results of CLASS observations and use of quality curriculum.
- Review up-to-date data and information. The VQB5 portal will be updated annually and shared publicly each fall.
- Easily search for a site or program by program name, address, city, or zip code.
